Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani’s future is up in the air after Juventus declined to sign the player on a permanent basis, claims the Daily Mail.
Aquilani made 33 appearances for the Turin side on loan last season and it was thought the clubs had already agreed a fee in January to make the move permanent. However, after a disappointing 7th placed finish Juventus sacked manager Luigi Del Neri and it seems Aquilani does not feature in new manager Antonio Conte’s plans.
Juventus have since signed Andrea Pirlo on a free transfer from AC Milan. However, Milan are thought to be keen on Aquilani as a replacement.
Liverpool signed the Italy international from Roma in the Summer of 2009 for £17 million but his Premier League debut was delayed until November due to injury. He was shipped out on loan by ex-manager Roy Hodgson and the Anfield club are keen to recoup most of the fee they paid for him.

He had been linked with a return to Liverpool but with the club agreeing a fee with Sunderland for Jordan Henderson his days at the club appear numbered. Liverpool are keen to sell the 26-year old and are thought to be willing to start the bidding with Milan at £10 million.
