Manchester City have rejected rumours that Edin Dzeko is on the verge of leaving the club.
The Bosnian striker has slipped down Roberto Mancini’s preferences, with Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez usually selected ahead of the targetman.
A summer exit from the Etihad Stadium has been rumoured, with AC Milan thought to be keen on the eastern European marksman.
Despite an agent by the name of Sead Susic stating that he had brokered a deal for Dzeko to move to the Rossoneri, City have rejected the claims.
“The club have no knowledge of the so-called spokesman Mr Susic, nor has it given a mandate to any third party to discuss the transfer of Edin Dzeko, who remains a Manchester City player,” a club spokesman confirmed to Sky Sports.
It is thought that City may well be willing to part with Dzeko to finance a deal for Robin van Persie.
